English
As an English major with a Bachelor of Arts, I have extensive knowledge of the English Program of Studies from K-12, in addition to knowledge of a variety of resources and literature aligned with curriculum objectives. For more information regarding these resources feel free to visit my Literacy Webpage.
PSII In my second practicum I also had the pleasure of teaching a media study unit to two 10-1 English classes. Using a variety of videos, images, advertisements, and other art forms, students met a variety of outcomes through the curriculum. ![]()
PSIII
In my third practicum I taught English 20-1 to a group of 30 students in Taber. Throughout the course we read Macbeth and The Great Gatsby, in addition to poetry, short story and media. For examples of unit plans see my planning page. For student handouts unit handouts. Click below: |
Science
Curriculum and Instruction for Science - As part of my undergraduate courses I took this course to gain a better understanding of the Science curriculum. In the course we examined various inquiry based approaches for science learning. As our final project we culminated our learning through a Grade One Building Things Unit.

Social Studies
In my third practicum I taught Social Studies 8 to a group of 19 students in Taber. From September to December we focused exclusively on the Renaissance. I took a project based learning approach to this unit. For each chapter students created a museum exhibit that will be incorperated in their end of year gallery. This allowed students to persue their area of interest, and showcase their learning to the school community.

Math
Though I have not had the opportunity to teach math, I took a course in Curriculum and Instruction for Math. Over the course were required to make a Unit plan that used elements that we learned throughout (backwards by design, essential question, applied mathamatics, etc). In my case, I created a measurement unit for Grade 4.
